KAM to Exhibit at OTC
For the first time ever, KAM will be exhibiting at the upcoming OTC Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas, May 6-9. Come by to see KAM products on display, including a working demo of the OWD Water Cut Meter. The OWD offers true 0-100% water cut measurement with an accuracy of 1% of full range. Excelling in high produced water scenarios, the OWD seamlessly switches between oil-continuous and water-continuous flow without any changes in accuracy.
Additional featured products include the SMP Static Mixing Spool, the new OOD Optical Oil Detector, and the IAS Isokinetic Automatic Sampler. The SMP can be installed between two flanges, saving extremely valuable real estate on offshore platforms with the same mixing efficiency of a spool. The new OOD offers oil in water detection at the ppm level for produced water monitoring, bilge water monitoring, ballast, etc. And the IAS is a part of a complete automatic sampling system solution already in place throughout the gulf region.

KAM Representatives at the SEA show in Singapore
KAM products and representatives will be at the SEA show in Singapore, April 9-11. Partnering with Ace Instrumentation, KAM will display products such as the OWD Water Cut Meter for 0-100% measurement of water in oil, the OOD Optical Oil Detector for detection of oil in water at the ppm level, and the IAS Isokinetic Automatic Sampling system for offshore and onshore automatic sampling.

Water Cut Meter Demonstration at the Canadian School of Hydrocarbon Measurement
KAM CONTROLS will be conducting demonstrations of our water cut meter technology, the KAM OWD, at the upcoming CSHM Canadian School of Hydrocarbon Measurement. The demonstration will include a basic explanation of the microwave technology employed in the OWD –a patented 3-antenna design – as well as showing the simplicity of site calibration and the ability of the OWD to measure over a true 0-100% water cut range.
If you plan on attending, please stop by our agent partner’s (Zirco) booth to meet KAM representatives, and learn more about our products.

KAM CONTROLS to teach BS&W and Karl Fischer courses
KAM CONTROLS representatives will be teaching courses on BS&W measurement, as well as Karl Fischer and centrifuge for the upcoming CCAMS Corpus Christi Area Measurement Society. This is the second year we have had the pleasure of teaching these classes. The meeting will take place Feb. 19 and 20 in Corpus Christi.
The BS&W will examine the available technologies for inline measurement of water cut, offering explanations of the theory of operation for each technology, their strengths and weaknesses, as well as applications for water cut meters.
The Karl Fischer/centrifuge course will explain the methodology of using centrifuge and Karl Fischer coulometric titration to detect moisture in crude oil. The course will offer a step-by-step explanation of each method, plus provide a demonstration of Karl Fischer measurement.

Turbidity Haze Analyzer – newest product in KAM CONTROLS line
KAM CONTROLS has just launched our newest product, the THA Turbidity Haze Analyzer. The product is ideal for pipeline terminals and refineries and can be used to detect water and particulate contamination in refined fuels. At both receiving and delivery terminals, pipeline operators can use the THA to detect turbidity in specific batches and can be used to help determine the source of contamination for both liability and re-routing purposes.
Refineries can use the THA for quality control on fuels prior to distribution, and to monitor the performance of filters, coalescers, and separators.
Like all KAM products, the THA inserts directly into the pipeline without having to drain the pipe or stop flow, or it can be easily incorporated into an analyzer loop.
API Committee on Petroleum Measurement
Continuing our long history of involvement with the API Committee on Petroleum Measurement (COPM), last week KAM CONTROLS exhibited at the meeting in New Orleans, hosted our 60th Corona hour, and participated in multiple committees, including measurement standards and Spanish translation.
Company founder and chairman, Kam Mohajer, has been a member of the API and COPM for over 30 years. He has actively participated in standards for automatic sampling and Karl Fischer measurement of water in crude oil. And this year was the 60th Corona hour, an event which has become an institution at the COPM meeting with free beer and wine, plus a chance to unwind with fellow committee members and old friends.
KAM CONTROLS Founder and Chairman Shortlisted for EI Award
