KAM UFM Ultrasonic Flow Meter


The KAM UFM Ultrasonic Flow Meter provides highly accurate flow measurement in a full range of liquids. Because it has no moving parts, viscosity and varying flow rates won’t affect accuracy–nor will slippage. And it won’t suffer from the mechanical deterioration or sensor wear experienced with many conventional flow meters.

Over a decade of research has gone into the KAM UFM flow meter’s sensor head to minimize electrical interference and completely eliminate mechanical noise. This allows KAM UFM flow meters to operate over a very large flow range (100 to 1 standard turn down ratio) with an output that is directly proportional to flow.

Because KAM UFM flow meters insert directly into the pipe, they won’t experience signal loss through the pipe wall. And the sensor is able to be located in the most representative point in the flow profile.


HOW IT WORKS

  • The ultrasonic sensor transmits a known frequency into the most representative point in the flow profile of the moving stream. This signal reflects off a particle in the moving stream and returns to the sensor at a different frequency. Fluid velocity can now be determined using the Doppler principle or Doppler shift–the difference between the transmitted and received frequencies.
