Job Description:

Marketing (70%): Management and implementation of marketing strategies, including on-line and trade shows

Sales (20%): Customer interaction at trade shows and additional sales support

Administration (10%): Assist the senior management team with event planning and coordination; cover phones as necessary

The ideal candidate will be very hands-on and entrepreneurial in nature with a mix of creative, tactical and strategic components, ideally with B2B experience. He/she will be responsible for implementation of an integrated marketing solution, including email blasts, e-newsletters, social media, trade shows, etc., designed to help KAM CONTROLS increase market share, maintain relationships with existing customers, acquire new customers, and maximize profit from existing customers. In addition, the position will act as point person for multiple training, events and marketing efforts.

It is critical that he/she must be extremely versatile, have a high tolerance for multitasking and a can-do, positive attitude. He/she must be very self-motivated and a high achiever, with a very strong work ethic. He/she must have an interest in, and aptitude for, learning new things. In addition, the position requires most of the following tasks and responsibilities (and a willingness to learn the rest).


In this role, the primary responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Customer Service

  • Prioritize customer service in all aspects of your individual position and in the company as a whole –including timeliness in communications, on-time delivery of emails, documents, quotes, instruments, parts, etc.– always maintaining a professional and cheerful communication.
  • Take ownership of customer interaction: alert management to any problems or issues with customers, follow up on all your communications with customers, and follow up internally when handing off projects and/or issues to other KAM team members. We ALL own the customer experience.

Corporate Marketing

  • Assist with the development and execution of KAM CONTROLS marketing strategy for building, managing, and measuring the effectiveness of the company's brand positioning
  • Drive all marketing programs, industry marketing, partner marketing, and solutions marketing through social media, CRM, advertising, trade shows, events, corporate website, and collateral development
  • Create content and manage content creation by third parties (white papers, collateral, sales tools, presentations, website content, newsletters, etc.)
  • Work with all tiers of the sales organization to drive revenue generating marketing programs
  • Monitor and pursue KAM placement on vendor registration lists
  • Coordinate and execute customer satisfaction feedback efforts, in line with the corporate quality policy
  • Own documentation management, including generation, editing and distribution both internally and for customers. This involves working with engineering teams on technical documentation (such as user manuals, internal procedures, reports, etc.), with operations/production to generate documentation packages for shipments, and with sales/inside sales for project management and proposals.

Internet Marketing

  • Search Engine Optimization (link-building, link purchasing, site optimization)
  • Online advertising (purchased text and banner ads)
  • Website management and content creation
  • Ability to form relationships that have developed into groups that utilized website platforms and social network.


  • Drive revenue from existing customers by developing and executing contact strategies across multiple segments and all customer touch points (email, direct marketing on-site and direct mail)
  • Effectively co-manage lead generation and qualification processes with Business Managers and Sales
  • Monitor and report on closed-loop lead generation processes
  • Identify new opportunities for creating customer loyalty – create and launch a variety of programs in addition to monitoring, tracking and reporting on the results
  • Develop reporting & analysis in order to track program effectiveness against key metrics
  • Mentor and develop CRM users on email marketing and testing best practices
  • Import of leads to database & monitor distribution across sales.

Event Marketing

  • Responsible for overseeing corporate events planning efforts
  • Key metric tracking/reporting (visitors, conversions, members, growth, etc.)
  • Determine a schedule of industry trade shows and seminars to support marketing and sales objectives
  • Create and manage a marketing plan for major trade shows, industry meetings, seminars and user conferences
  • Arrange production, approval and execution of all event deliverables to include event program advertising, signage, promotional items, product demonstrations and internal communications
  • Arrange event logistics including orders for event registration, booth space furniture, utilities, shipping as well as travel (transportation, lodging, etc.)
  • Travel to most major events, approx. 6 times per year, to support onsite execution and management
  • Process all targets/leads into CRM Software accurately and expediently
  • Coordinate or conduct pre-show and post-show briefings
  • Analyze programs for effectiveness and conduct post-event reporting and ROI analysis
  • Manage events budget year-round
  • Purchase and maintain all equipment, accessories and supplies
  • Assist senior management in internal event planning.

Prerequisites for the job:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in marketing (B2B preferred, technical preferred)
  • In-depth understanding of marketing communications principles, strategies, and methods
  • In-depth understanding of Design, Writing, Creative, and Production
  • Strong sense of self-motivation and ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate effectively regarding those concepts
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written) with internal and external stakeholders
  • Event planning and coordination experience a plus
  • Computer skills: proficiency in MS Office suite programs, CRM software, Mailchimp platform, Google Docs, Google Analytics
  • CSS and HTML language knowledge a plus
  • Adobe Creative Cloud graphic design apps knowledge a plus
  • Basic understanding of Adobe InDesign a plus
  • Experience with social media a plus  
  • Proven experience managing marketing programs, budget and ROI models a plus.


  • BA/BS degree required (Marketing, Business, Journalism, Communications)
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Budget Responsibilities:

  • Manage expenses associated with trade shows, meetings, advertising, product demonstrations and marketing materials.


  • Limited (<25%).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.
